We would like announce the winners of the Best of the Fest for the2nd annual Hamilton Waterfront Wingfest!
On our panel of judges were; Councillor Chad Collins, Terry Gray from Y108, Ben McVee from Y108 and Tony Holubeshen from Hamilton Professional Firefighters Association Local 288.
Along with a panel of judges to decide the best of the fest, the Hamilton Spectator collected ballots over the course of the weekend to determine the winners according to the People.
1.) Best Looking Booth
The first category judged by the panel of judges was the Best Looking Chicken Wing Booth. This category was based on signage being a clear display of the restaurant name, a visible menu and price listing, creativity in that you are drawn to the booth and the visual appeal of the staff.
1st Place - 5 Alarm Wings
2nd Place - Thirsty Cactus
3rd Place - JT Pluckers
2.) Best Hot Chicken Wing
The next category titled the Best Hot Chicken Wing was based on the heat, the flavour and the sauce. The three sub categories were rated on a one to five scale, 5 being the hottest, the most flavourful and the sauciest.
1st Place - 5 Alarm Wings
2nd Place - Ye Olde Squire
3rd Place - Hawgs Gone Wild
3.) Most Unique Sauce
The most unique sauce which was judged by originality and flavour on a one to five scale, five being the most original and the most flavourful

4.) King of the Wing
